Where Does Rice Come From?

Have you ever thought about where the rice that you buy in your local supermarket is actually grown?
by VeeTee What's New

Over half of the world’s population relies on rice as a staple part of their diet. It’s grown in over 100 countries producing over 700 million tonnes of rice per year.

Did you know that rice is grown in every continent except Antarctica?

Our VeeTee Rice Map lets you explore a selection of the highest producers of rice from all over the world. All you have to do is click on a country to reveal a list of the types of rice grown in that region.

With so many rice types on offer, it can be tempting to stick to the same old rice that you’re used to cooking, but our rice map makes it easier to understand the difference between varieties of rice and their cooked results, helping you experiment with other grains out there. You can even follow links to buy certain types of rice from the VeeTee shop!
