Job Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead the operational production team and to ensure delivery of the manufacturing performance in accordance with business objectives and strategic plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate and develop the team, to ensure planned output requirements/quality standards are met whilst ensuring all H&S guidelines are followed.

  • Review team performance regularly to identify areas for improvement and encourage progress of individual team members through performance review and developing and delivering agreed personal development plans.

  • Achieve shift KPI targets e.g., for line efficiencies, material usage variances and absenteeism etc, Key KPI targets will be given regarding Safety, Quality, Productivity, Waste. Adherence to these targets will be monitored periodically.

  • To ensure and verify availability of raw material and packing material as per production schedule.

  • To identify and eliminate points of losses in the line.

  • Ensure all site-specific Quality, Housekeeping & Hygiene standards are achieved or exceeded.

  • Accurately complete all required shift documentation for compliance against BRC, ISO and site-specific quality standards.

  • Ensure regular communication/briefing to provide the team with the relevant information to carry out their shift to maximum effect.

  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed properly, accurately and on time.

  • Assisting in non-conformance investigations and resolutions as required.

  • Proper and efficient shift handover to be followed as established. Ensure smooth operation of the plant during the shift with feedback to the production manager and other shift teams as appropriate.

  • Take part in recording, monitoring and analysis of plant performance data. Will also be required in attendance at daily meetings to present and discuss on plant performance.

  • Monitor absence levels and ensure return to work interviews are completed following team member absence.

  • Raise people issues with the Production Manager / HR as required.

  • Any other reasonable duties associated with the role.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Solid experience in a production supervisory capacity ideally within the food industry.

  • Relevant Food Manufacturing qualifications would be desirable.

  • Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems e.g. BRC and HACCP and also knowledge of Warehouse Management systems would be beneficial.

  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.

  • Excellent people management and organisational skills.

  • Computer literate.

  • Flexibility to do the hours necessary for the role.

  • Positive, "can do" attitude with a logical and flexible approach to work and taking accountability.

Shift Pattern:

  • 4 on 4 off rotating shift, days
