Job Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical and Automation Engineer to ensure the efficient operation and continuous improvement of electrical and automation systems whilst supporting production uptime, safety, and product quality through effective maintenance, troubleshooting, and system enhancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, Servo drives and SCADA).

  • Support maintenance teams with fault-finding and troubleshooting of control systems.

  • Supporting the wider team with mechanical maintenance when needed – we believe in a multi-skilled approach.

  • Working on planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.

  • Monitor and analyse system performance, suggesting improvements to efficiency and reliability.

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of automation and electrical systems.

  • Participate in continuous improvement and manufacturing projects - Capex.

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in a food manufacturing environment.

  • Responsible for completion of PPM tasks and daily checks in a timely manner.

  • Work with our CMMS system, work orders and spares etc.

  • Help and assist in the training of others and identify own training needs.

  • Maintaining tools and equipment to a safe working condition

  • Carry out and other reasonable duties associated with the role or projects assigned to meet the overall objectives of the role.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Experience with Siemens PLCs – programming, troubleshooting, and fault-finding.

  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, control circuits, and motors.

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical drawings.

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (or recognized international equivalent).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
