Spicy Creole Chicken Wings

This tasty recipe can spice up your plain old chicken wings with some American flavour. The dish goes perfectly with VeeTee Rice so try it for yourself.

What you need to get


  • 1 tray VeeTee Peri Peri Rice

  • 1kg chicken wings

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

  • ½ tsp dried thyme

  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic, crushed

  • 1 tbsp onion salt

  • 1 tbsp Tabasco sauce

  • ½ tsp white pepper

  • blue cheese dip

  • celery sticks


What you need to do


  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C / 400 °F / Gas 6.

  2. Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan (excluding the chicken wings) and heat gently until melted. Add the chicken wings and thoroughly combine, then place in a non-stick baking dish, pouring over any leftover sauce. Cover and leave the wings to marinade overnight if you have time.

  3. Bake in the oven, skin side down for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, turn the chicken wings over, skin side up, and baste again, giving them a good coating until cooked through.

  4. Microwave VeeTee Peri Peri Rice according to pack instructions, and serve alongside the chicken wings.

  5. Accompany with celery sticks and a blue cheese dip.
