Assistant Buyer – Packaging

To support the strategic and operational management of packaging purchases (and other goods and services) through effective data analysis, data mining, forecasting using systems (Microsoft Dynamics & Excel) and market research, with an objective to provide timely availability of packaging materials for operation/production team.
To build and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
To negotiate with suppliers for annual contracts.
Provide timely and effective statistical data analysis to support the development of procurement strategy for packaging.
Improve existing business processes.
Conduct market research, identifying price trends, major market influences and potential future market movements.

Negotiate prices for the supply of goods and services, ensuring best value for money.
Storage planning and third-party raw material warehousing.
Assess the risks and benefits of terms and conditions of supply arrangements, advising the Business.
Other projects and such tasks as and when required.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Proven experience in a similar role in FMCG industry.
Experience working in a food manufacturing company or commodity market.
A strong academic background, with a degree in a related discipline
Technical skills & management competencies
Advanced excel skills and good knowledge of all other Microsoft products.
Ability to influence at all levels
